    Hierbij vragen wij jullie aandacht voor de wereldwijde campagne Orange the World. Deze campagne laat zien hoe belangrijk het is om stil te staan bij geweld en onveiligheid in de samenleving. Gendergerelateerd geweld is geweld dat iemand treft wegens zijn of haar sekse, geslacht of identiteit en het betreft de meest voorkomende vorm van geweld in de wereld.
    Veiligheid gaat ons allemaal aan – vrouwen, mannen, jongeren, ouderen, ongeacht waarmee je je identificeert en waartoe je verbonden voelt – ook in Overbetuwe.
    Wij vinden dat respect, gelijkwaardigheid en veiligheid de basis moeten zijn van hoe wij met elkaar omgaan, waar je ook bent. Samen zijn we verantwoordelijk voor een veilige leefomgeving.
    Daarom roepen wij iedereen op om bij te dragen: door het gesprek aan te gaan, alert te zijn, elkaar te steunen en in actie te komen waar nodig. Zo bouwen we samen aan een gemeente waar iedereen zich veilig en vrij voelt. Laten we samen woord bij daad voegen en letterlijk een moment opstaan voor veiligheid.
